Back To The Basics

The Summer is coming to a close and it is time to get back to the basics. Our kids are back in school or college and we go back to fulfilling broken promises. You remember your New Year's resolutions; the promises to lose weight, eat less, exercise, read more or spend less. Some of us have not kept up with these promises. We need to go back to the basics, the small things that really matter. Let's settle our spirits and start over. Now is a good time. With change in the air, now is the time. We need to go back to organization, schedules, bed times and prayer times. Everything has gotten out of hand and we have been so busy, but let's go back to the basics. Even animals and nature are preparing for the approaching change. We as the people of God need to follow suit.

Let's renew our minds and open our spirits. Let's sit down and review the Biblical abc's and 123's. Back to reading comprehension, writing and counting our blessings. In all thy getting get an understanding. We are to write the vision and make it plain. We will never be rested, refreshed and prepared for the next move of God until we go back to the basics. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth II Tim. 2:15.

The key to our success is in the basics.

Pastor Lamont W. Jones

I fully agree with our Pastor, the answer is in the basics. We as women have many things that demand our attention. We have many roles: mother, wife, sister, employee, church ministries, etc. With all of this going on we end up forgetting about ourselves and most importantly about God. The basics make us stop, reflect and listen. God has so much for the body of Christ. Its not in a larger church, more finances or other worldly attractions. Its in the basics. Get back on your schedule, fulfill your broken dreams, keep your promises. Get back to the basics. Go back to the classroom and allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of the basics. The surival of ourselves, our children, the next generation and the church is found in the basics.

Let's go back.

First Lady Maria L. Jones
